Parents are reminded that there is a very important talk taking place next Wednesday 27th January in the Howth Yacht Club at 8pm. The talk is on Internet Safety and Cyber Bullying and will give parents and understanding of the problems and practical steps that they take to prevent issues arising. This meeting is open to all parents from every class as these issues are affecting children at a younger age. The cover charge is €10 per family.
Our guest speaker Ger Brick will be delivering a 90 minute Anti-Cyberbullying / Internet Safety Workshop to pupils of 4th – 6th classes on Tuesday and Wednesday next. Formally an IT Manager with Microsoft Ireland for 17 years, Ger Brick has 20+ years’ experience working on the Internet and has delivered talks to over 8000 primary school children throughout Ireland.
Parent Information Evening Agenda
The talk, incorporates video, guidelines, practical demonstrations and discussion, providing parents with practical non-technical information and guidance for keeping their children and families safe online.
Children’s Workshop Themes & Activities will include, Communicating Respectfully Online, Cyberbullying Rules, Consequences and the Law,Keeping Safe Online, Your Personal Information/Privacy and Online Safety Guidelines.
