Maths Week ran from the 12th to the 20th of October this year. Here at St. Fintan's we organised a number of activities to coincide with this national celebration of all things mathematical. Among the most popular were corridor maths quizzes that took place in the hall, complete with MCs and spot prizes! Individual classes ran their own games using dice and shapes. They took part in a maths trails, recorded how many windows are in the school, as well as measuring the distance from classrooms to the secretary’s office. One of the classes recorded the traffic outside on Carrickbrack Road and analysed that data, while many of the children brought activity sheets home to continuing linking maths with their daily life experiences.
